
The main project objective was to review the current Traffic and Road Safety Act 1998 and its subsidiary regulations and draft a updated law using international practices.
Based on a thorough review of Uganda’s road safety legislation , amendments to the key bills and regulations were delivered, aligning them with current practices and international standards. A technical working paper on vehicle standards was developed, and institutional structures were proposed to support policy implementation. The work culminating in a revised Traffic and Road Safety Bill.
