Objective

To assess the technical and economic feasibility of developing North-South gas transit interconnections in the Caucasus and Central Asia, with the goal of enhancing regional energy connectivity, diversifying export routes, and supporting EU energy security through improved access to Central Asian gas supplies.

Results

Pre-feasibility results provided a strong foundation for further development. The studies identified viable infrastructure routes, assessed investment requirements, and highlighted the strategic value of linking Central Asian gas supplies to European markets via the South Caucasus. They also recommended further detailed feasibility assessments, including environmental and regulatory reviews, to advance the development of a secure and diversified regional gas transit corridor.
