The overall objective of the project was to contribute to the development and adoption of a comprehensive strategy linking up actual and future transit needs, transport and border crossing capacities, and to prepare the feasibility studies for the identified priority projects with the purpose to assist the Governments of Belarus and Ukraine in taking the necessary actions for implementing the agreed priorities in the trade and transport sectors.

Results

Based on a comprehensive analysis of border crossings and transport infrastructure between Ukraine and Belarus, a 10-year forecasts of trade and traffic flows was developed in view of the alignment of the national transport strategies with the EU’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). Priority infrastructure projects and detailed master plans were developed. Pre-feasibility studies delivered and introduced monitoring tools to guide future development and investment projects in the trade and transport sectors.
