Objective

Within the World Bank-funded project “Georgia Romania Electric and Digital Interconnection Feasibility Study”, we have been sub-contracted by Lamnidis Law as the legal partner of CESI to undertake the management and coordination of legal experts work from Georgia, Romania and Bulgaria in order to deliver the Legal and Regulatory Analysis of the proposed subsea power and Fiber optic cable project as well as to contribute to the Project: Evaluation of Financing Options.

Results

The feasibility study for the Black Sea Submarine Cable Project was endorsed by the client Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) and World Bank. Based on the legal proposals, the 4 participating companies in the Project ( Transelectrica from Romania, GSE from Georgia, MVM Zrt from Hungary and Azerenerji from Azerbaijan) have progressed with the signature of the Joint Venture Agreement and considered the financing options proposed by the study, as well the preparatory work for inclusion of the project in the TYNDP (Ten Year Network Development Plan) as Project of Mutual Interest (PMI) in the EC list as per EU Regulation No. 2022/869.
