Objective

The main objective of the project was to investigate the feasibility of a gas transit corridor from Kazakhstan and, possibly, Turkmenistan across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan and Georgia and then through the Black Sea region to EU consumer countries with the aim to enhance EU's energy security by diversifying supply routes.

Results

Viable options for transporting Caspian gas to Europe, addressing significant challenges, such as securing multilateral agreements and addressing environmental concerns. These findings The study was presented to the European Commission in Brussels for further actions and support for future energy corridors connecting Central Asia to the European Union.
