Objective

The objective of the contract was to produce studies analysing the conformity of national provisions with Community instruments in the area of citizenship of the Union.

Results

The studies identified the extent to which national legislation aligned with EU provisions on the free movement and residence of Union citizens and the electoral framework for European Parliament elections. Gaps and inconsistencies were highlighted, and recommendations were made to ensure full compliance with relevant Community instruments.
